Expert Meeting AI & TVET 2026
Einladung zum 2. Expertentreffen zu KI und Berufsbildung am UNESCO-UNEVOC-Zentrum Magdeburg – „Bau und (Wieder-)Aufbau für nachhaltige Entwicklung“
10.–11. November 2026

Invitation to the 2nd Expert Meeting on AI and TVET at the UNESCO-UNEVOC Centre in Magdeburg – "Building and (Re-)Construction for Sustainable Development", 10–11 November 2026
The Vocational Education Institute at Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg, together with its partners in the UNESCO-UNEVOC Centre Magdeburg, Fraunhofer IFF and GIZ, cordially invites you to the second "AI and TVET" Expert Meeting on 10 and 11 November 2026 at the "Factory of the Future" – Elbfabrik at Fraunhofer IFF. Building on the successful first meeting in 2025, this international conference once again offers a unique opportunity to network with leading experts from research, industry, policy and education and to gain in-depth insights into the transformative role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in vocational education and training – this year with a focus on building and (re-)construction.
The event will showcase the latest developments and practical approaches to applying AI and automation in construction and their implications for vocational education. Attendees will gain valuable perspectives on the competencies required for AI-supported construction occupations and digital building processes, and learn practical strategies to create future-proof curricula, competency frameworks and training programmes. A particular focus lies on technology-supported (re-)construction in crisis regions.
This meeting is founded on the understanding that AI is not only a technological advancement but a catalyst for significant changes in how work is done and societies function. The urgency to act is underscored by the rapid pace of technological change, the growing gap between current workforce skills and future job demands, and the pressing need for sustainable, climate-friendly infrastructure in the face of global crises and rapid urbanisation. Recognising AI as an essential element in vocational education enables us to equip learners with the technical and interdisciplinary skills they need for an AI-driven future.
Why attend? The conference offers an unparalleled platform for academics, educators, policymakers, and professionals from industry and research. Expand your network, engage in interdisciplinary discussions, and contribute to sustainable development through vocational education, innovation and international cooperation.
